Bibleclub ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Bibleclub mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo (if provided). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from your Google account.
User Content: We collect the reflections, posts, replies, and images you create within the App, including the text, timestamps, and any associated metadata.
Reading Data: We track which Bible chapters you have read, your reading plan progress, reading preferences (such as Bible version, font size, and reading speed), and daily reading streaks.
Group Data: We collect information about groups you create or join, including group names, membership, and shared content.
Interaction Data: We collect data about your interactions, including hearts (likes) on posts and replies, and reply activity.
Device Information: We may collect basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and improving the App.
We use the information we collect to: (a) provide, operate, and maintain the App; (b) sync your reading progress and preferences across devices; (c) enable social features such as groups, reflections, and replies; (d) display your profile to other group members; (e) send you notifications related to your reading plans and group activity (with your permission); and (f) improve and develop new features for the App.
With Other Users: Your display name, profile photo, and any content you share to groups (reflections, posts, replies) are visible to other members of those groups. Private reflections are only visible to you.
Service Providers: We use Supabase for authentication, database, and storage services. Your data is processed and stored on Supabase's infrastructure. We may use other third-party services for analytics and error reporting.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Bibleclub, our users, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
Your data is stored on Supabase servers and on your device (via local caching). We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security policies, and secure authentication tokens to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and user content from our servers. Some data may persist in backups for a limited period. Anonymized or aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely.
Access and Update: You can access and update your profile information at any time through the App's settings.
Delete Your Account: You can delete your account through the App's settings. This will remove your profile, reading data, reflections, and group memberships.
Notifications: You can enable or disable push notifications through the App's settings or your device settings.
Data Export: You may contact us to request a copy of your personal data.
Bibleclub is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
The App may contain links to external Bible applications or other third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
